Ecommerce Accountants.
Grew a three-person practice to a 25-person firm with 500+ ecommerce clients.
Led work at Ecommerce Accountants as Partner, CTO and COO.
Ecommerce Accountants specialises in accounting for online sellers, a niche that barely existed as a dedicated service when the firm started. The practice had three people, a handful of clients, and a clear sense that the market was about to grow much faster than traditional accountancy could keep up with.
The work covered almost every lever a professional services firm has. Brand and website, built to speak directly to ecommerce founders rather than to generic small business owners. SEO and content designed around the questions those founders were actually searching for. A CRM set up properly, so leads, clients, and engagements flowed through a single system instead of spreadsheets and inboxes.
On top of that sat the operational layer. Automation of the repetitive parts of onboarding and delivery, so the team could handle more clients without the headcount scaling linearly. Dashboards and process documentation so that new hires could get up to speed quickly, and partners could see how the firm was actually performing rather than relying on memory.
Over the course of the engagement the firm grew from three people to around twenty-five, and from a handful of clients to more than five hundred. The shape of the firm, the systems it runs on, and the brand it sells under were all built in that period.
